Anton Riebe Anton Riebe was born in Cottesloe, Western Australia, in 1905. He studied at the SA School of Art and the North Adelaide School of Fine Arts (with Millward Grey). Mainly a landscape painter, Anton earned a living from signwriting and commercial art. During World War II he worked in camouflage in Darwin and NE Australia. Anton Riebe is 'listed' in McCulloch's Encyclopedia of Australian Art (2006). For sale is a signed watercolour entitled The Coorong at Noonamena, painted in 1976. The painting measures 37 x 52 cms, and is signed and dated lower left, titled to reverse. It is on offer for $800. Also for sale is a signed watercolour of Swamp Lands at Sunset. Its sale price is $450.
