Judy Watson Napangardi
Judy Watson was born at Yarungkanji around 1935, at the time when many Central and Western Desert peoples were living a traditional nomadic life. Judy was taught painting by her elder sister, Maggie Napangardi Watson. Though a very tiny woman Judy has had ten children, two of whom she has outlived. She is a woman of incredible energy which is transmitted to her work through her dynamic use of colour, and energetic 'dragged dotting' style. Judy was voted one of the 50 Most Collectible Artists in the Art Collector magazine's Jan 2009 edition. She is now arguably the most significant living female Indigenous artist in Australia.
Two of Judy’s signature artworks are for sale: each is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and photos of Judy Watson with the painting.
